Services for Upgrade:

- When Configuring Block Only Solution with Total Efficiency Pack, please configure Professional Services for Security & Compliance Suite/ Events and Retention i.e.1 x #PS-PKG-IMSCU . It will not select by default.

- For VNX upgrades configure 1 x #PS-BAS-UPDAEB Service for first two DAEs and 1 x PS-BAS-DAE service required for next two DAEs triggered there after.

Promo model:

VNX2 product, a recent change adds a PROMO Model to the configuration and quote.  This model is added by design whenever the configuration has a flash capacity of 15% or greater.  Please leave a note stating the same and there is no option to remove it from the configuration

SYR does not contain the current config details for VNX. The Install Base (IB) feature in MyQuotes has shown to be un-reliable. For this reason, we have made an assumption that rack space is available for the upgrade configuration. We have built the config to include the proper data drives, spares, and DAEs to fulfill the request, and rack space should be verified.

VNX Budgetary Estimate

Please note that for all upgrades, SN is required to be provided in MyQuotes if you need to submit the order. I have added an exception as ‘Budgetary Estimated Only’ for now.

Software upgrade

In VNX software upgrades, existing drive count does not impact the quantity/model/price of software licenses added. IB data information has shown to be unreliable. To complete the configuration in MyQuotes, we have assumed one DAE fully populated as existing. However if you need existing array details to be populated correctly, please provide us with current drive information or SP collects.

VNX RAID

The EMC best practices on VNX suggest using Raid 6 (6+2 default) for 1 TB and larger NL-SAS drives. VNX EFD and SAS drives will use RAID5 (4+1) unless otherwise specified in the sizing request or to meet the workload requirements. These RAID choices provide the best possible combination of performance and capacity and also help the overall reliability of the solution.

Capacity mis-match

Due to raid constraints I was not able to match exact requested capacity. So I have configured the next possible capacity to satisfy the request.

Hot Spare
i have taken requested drives as Data drives including hot spares.

Co-term Hardware Maintenance

The HW maintenance cost is included with the upgrade part numbers. The maintenance period will be co-terminus with the existing.
