Capacity Calculator

- Take the capacity for VMAX Legacy, VMAX 10K & VMAX 20K from Path only, rest of the all VMAX Model use the provided calculator.

Modem

- Add one Modem to new VMAX configuration.

Drive slots

- Please note that going forward 2.5” drives will only be available in the VMAX3 configuration path. To have 3.5” drives to be included kindly contact the V3V_Tiger_Team  (V3V.Tiger.Team@emc.com). They can modify the XML file and these drives are added to the quote. 

Storage Analytics

- The EMC Storage Analytics software is no longer available to be ordered for the VMAX1 (VMAX classic systems).

Software not avilable in Legacy
The following V1 Software titles will no longer be available for purchase; these titles are rarely sold on a V1 array at this point. If a customer is currently using them and they purchase additional capacity the software will continue to run:
o ATSM o ESA o GDDR o OR/DM o Symm Pack Enhanced o Symm Migration o Symm Virtual Provisioning Runtime

VMAX1 SW Titles:

The list of orderable VMAX1 software titles will consist of:

Advanced FAST Suite   , Enginuity, Symm Mgt Suite, MF Essentials, SRDF (both /S and /A), STAR,

TimeFinder (both TF/Clone and TF/Snap), PowerPath, RP/EX, ViPR Storage Resource Management

VMAX3 Upgrades:

Please ask the requestor to provide the Sizer XML of the requested VMAX3 Upgrade to proceed with the request. 

Issues And Workaround
Issue -1

Some older VMAX 3 quotes generated in MyQuotes with pre 13/2/2016 Sizer xml files can exhibit missing flash Module models on QARs and eventually Sales Orders

Workaround: To insure that proper Flash Modules are added to all older quotes built with pre 13/2/2016 Sizer xml files, Users will need to open quotes, select the override checkbox and click on the cache calculation button prior to submitting their quote to order. Flash Modules will then reappear on QARs 

 Issue-2

New VMAX 3 system configurations uploaded from Sizer via xml files cannot have cache changes made within the MyQuotes configurator due to a calculation bug that will improperly configure vault Flash modules.

Workaround: Users desiring to increase their system cache must return to Sizer, make cache changes there, and generate a new xml file for upload into the MyQuotes configurator.

Issue-3

Although MyQuotes in some scenarios (using quotes generated prior to 13/2/2016) it appears that users can mix the older (200, 400, 800, 1600GB) and newer (960, 1920GB) flash drive capacities in VMAX3 Hybrid array configurations, this is not supported in any version of 5977 Hypermax OS code and should NOT be configured.

Workaround:This will be corrected (blocked) in a future MyQuotes release (target is April 2016) but till than be sure that the older and newer Flash Drives are not configured simultaneously in any VMAX3 configuration since it is not a valid configuration
